My loot from the big show yesterday!

January 25th

A dream come true for me today! I got to go down to Anaheim with my friend Sarah and experience the Winter CHA show. It's a trade show for the Craft & Hobby Association. We had a BLAST! Saw several celebs and great product and came home with some fun freebies too!

January 24th

I don't have a picture for today. I didn't take one. So I'm going to journal and add a picture later.

Today we went to a birthday party for some folks we barely knew. Daddy works with the dad and Mommy scraps with the mom. It was their little boys 2nd birthday. We had never met there kids. The point of all this is that we all had the best time at the party. Lacie & Colby took off outside to jump in the jumper and we sat inside with some adults that Daddy works with and chatted the night away. The kids came in periodically to check in, get a drink, eat, etc. There were babies & toddlers all around. Whining, clinging, needing changed. Doing what babies do. It really clicked in my head that I was SO relieved not to be worrying about any of that. We have BIG kids now, that can play outside on their own with kids they'd never met before and have a GREAT time. And now my husband & I can enjoy grownup time with pretty much no worries! As much as I'd love to have the 3 kids I'd always wanted, I just can NOT imagine starting over. And I'm actually glad that we don't have to! We are so enjoying this stage in our lives! It's a blast!

So I think I'll add a baby pic of the kids?

It was the 100th day of school today!!!

January 22nd

I love this # series by Janet Evanovich. I finally got my hands on the latest release, only it was a rental from the library. Which means it cost me 25 cents for everyday that I had it. Still WAY cheaper than buying! And really no big deal since I read it in 3 days :) Best 75 cents I ever spent!

January 20th

Today was a big day for America. The 44th President, the first African American, took the oath of office today. I know alot of peopel doing this project took pictures of their tvs during the inaugaration. Well, I had that thought but you see, it was also a big day for our family, my husband specifically. He turned 31 today!!!! So this was what I came up with :) Oh an he wouldn't cooperate, which is so him! So I decided to just lump 'em all together :) It shows too much of his personality for me to ignore! :)

January 19th

I can't decide which one I like best.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr's birthday there was no school this Monday. So I had my sister with me for the day. It was the perfect opportunity to follow through on my promise to them to take them to see High School Musical 3 at our discount theater!

January 18th

This past Sunday I had the privilege of hosting a family get together in my home. Several of my cousins (I'm the oldest) were in town from Mississippi, North Carolina, and Sacramento. Only ONE of my Nana's grandkids were missing (my sister) and 2 of her daughter's were missing - actually the mothers of the cousins who were all in town (they were in town visiting their dads). It was only for a few hours but we had SUCH a great time! Definitely treasured memories! And I just have to say, Thank the Lord for cameras with the self-timer feature!

One of my favorite treats this winter was making my own lil mochas at home. I found this mug on clearance at a local Hallmark store. Don't you love it?

January 16th

Papa & Nonna (my inlaws) came over for dinner this night. Pizza mmm. Papa also needed some help from David on something for a class he is taking for his new teaching job. They also brought each of the kids an outfit and a music book (drums for Colby and piano for Lacie). He even gave Lacie a mini piano lesson while Nonna and I talked about crafts :)

These 2 images are cropped from the image above. I think i might use them instead since they are more appealing to the eye. Oh and Colby wasn't really sleeping he was just being stubborn.

January 15th

This is Lacie drinking out of a crazy cool cup from Denny's, bought for her by her Poppie & Mammie awhile back. It has 2 straws because there are 2 compartments so you could have 2 different types of drink :) Pretty cool eh? We never had anything like that when I was a kid! haha

Here's another cell phone pic by one of my kiddos, this time my son. This was taken, while we waiting for the gates at his school to open. Aren't his lips gorgeous?

January 13th

Colby was excited to get to school today. He was dressed & ready to go an hour and a half before his scheduled time and he insisted that he ride his scooter. He's growing up so fast!

January 12th

I just about started crying when I went to pick up my daughter from school and I find her with her nose stuck in a book. Just like I always was growing up :) Reading Beverly Cleary's Ramona the Brave.

January 11th

WICKED!!!! I was lucky enough to see the last Los Angeles showing with my BFF. This is us in the bathroom before the show :)

We saw the show for {our} first times together and were able to see it close out together as well. It is SUCH a great show!

January 10th

This photo was taken by my darling daughter, via my cell phone. She loves doing that and it trips me out that she (and my son) know how to work with technology at such a young age.

I like the idea of using pictures that other family members (and even friends) have taken. The idea, I think, if for these pictures to be a glimpse into our lives at this moment in time. Whatever that image (or thing) may be.

January 9th

After spending the afternoon snuggling with my friend's 7 week old baby, I came home and this fell out of my pocket. UHOH!!!!! But really I was just helping him out, his parents really needed to get him some more masculine pacifiers anyway ;) hehehe Love you McClane!!!

January 8th

I mentioned in a previous post how much it amazes me that my kids are so technologically savvy. Here is my 5 year old son navigating my husband's laptop so that he can watch youtube videos of DINOSAURS!

After 3 1/2 years I finally got my braces off!!!!!

These are my before & after pics :)

Holy 365 Kit Goodness Batman!

I can't believe I'm so far behind in uploading pictures! But I have been taking them, I promise! I'll get caught up this week :)

I just had to come and tell you all - in case you don't follow Becky's blog - about the cool thing she has on there right now. If you really liked the graphic design of the kit she has a file for you to download with the Week of cards, cover and end page, and even some journaling cards. You could print them out from home, from a photo printing place, etc. So really all you'd need to buy is the page protectors and a album! Oh and by the way, this download is FREEEEEEE! Crazy huh?

My poor cup is all scratched up :( Can't wait to get a new one on Sunday!!!!!

January 5th

Our Christmas decorations have been sitting on our dining room table for a week now. These are just a small portion of them. I guess they won't be packing themselves! I finally got them mostly put away today.

January 4th

After almost a whole year with no asthma problems, we have to start up the routine again. Breathing treatments and an allergy pill once a day. We know it's a small price to pay for an otherwise healthy boy.

January 3rd

I love his creations! These little cities, dinosaur villages, whatever you want to call them, are a common occurance in the living room these days!

January 2nd

Fresh and clean like a jelly bean - that's what Mammie always tells you when you get out of the bath. She bought you that towel wrap for your hair so you could be just like her!

January 1st

75% Off but 100% EVIL! :(

So here's the deal...

I will taking (at least) one photo, every day, for the year of 2009. This will be my way, for now, of documenting those pictures. I am so excited to watch my children, my family, my photography skills, grow as this year goes on! If you're like to join me on this journey, feel free! I can't promise I'll be updating daily, it might be more like weekly. But I do strongly wish to continue this throughout the whole year. I don't want this to be just another project that I start but don't finish. So please, please, leave those comments for encouragement!!! Enjoy!
