March 7th

Today was actually my Nana's birthday, we celebrated the night before with family but I didn't get any good pictures :( I still want to make mention of her special day because she means so much to me.

The picture I took today was actually at Baby H's 2nd birthday party. I'm so glad that I can still be a part of her life! The relationship she has with my kids is incredibly adorable too!

February 9th

There was no school today in honor of Abraham Lincoln so we had my sister Isabelle for a visit. The girls and I busted out Lacies alphabet bead set to make some necklaces and keychains! It was to boring for Colby LOL

February 6th

Happy 26th Birthday to my "baby" brother! I don't remember him being born. I remember him always being there. I have so many great (and a few not so great) memories of he and I growing up together. We are only 2 years apart and our birthdays are exactly a week apart. I am so excited to see what this year brings for him!

February 3rd

My brother and I plus our kids stood in line for 40 minutes with a TON of other people to get our free breakfast on at Denny's! It was so much fun spending time together and the food was yummy! I just wish I had a picture of all 5 of us. Unfortunately my nephew is that fun age (2) and was not into having his picture taken.

February 2nd

In a 3 week span we have 4 birthdays to celebrate in my family. David on January 20th, my brother Greg on February 6th, me on February 13th, and my stepdad on February 14th. This year we agreed to celebrate all 4 at once at a new restaurant in town called Famous Dave's BBQ. There were other family members there, we exchanged gifts, had yummy bbq, cake and ice cream. It was a nice night spent with people we love!

This picture will have to do for now, or forever. My mom has one of us 4 birthday peeps in front of the Famous Dave's catering truck that I'd rather use. In this picture, my stepdad, mom, sister, and my kids are looking at the album that we as a birthday gift for him.

February 1st

We watched the Superbowl at my mom's house and wacko me didn't have my camera. A few days later I took a picture of her camera displaying this picture. Eventually I'll get the real thing :)

January 24th

I don't have a picture for today. I didn't take one. So I'm going to journal and add a picture later.

Today we went to a birthday party for some folks we barely knew. Daddy works with the dad and Mommy scraps with the mom. It was their little boys 2nd birthday. We had never met there kids. The point of all this is that we all had the best time at the party. Lacie & Colby took off outside to jump in the jumper and we sat inside with some adults that Daddy works with and chatted the night away. The kids came in periodically to check in, get a drink, eat, etc. There were babies & toddlers all around. Whining, clinging, needing changed. Doing what babies do. It really clicked in my head that I was SO relieved not to be worrying about any of that. We have BIG kids now, that can play outside on their own with kids they'd never met before and have a GREAT time. And now my husband & I can enjoy grownup time with pretty much no worries! As much as I'd love to have the 3 kids I'd always wanted, I just can NOT imagine starting over. And I'm actually glad that we don't have to! We are so enjoying this stage in our lives! It's a blast!

So I think I'll add a baby pic of the kids?

January 18th

This past Sunday I had the privilege of hosting a family get together in my home. Several of my cousins (I'm the oldest) were in town from Mississippi, North Carolina, and Sacramento. Only ONE of my Nana's grandkids were missing (my sister) and 2 of her daughter's were missing - actually the mothers of the cousins who were all in town (they were in town visiting their dads). It was only for a few hours but we had SUCH a great time! Definitely treasured memories! And I just have to say, Thank the Lord for cameras with the self-timer feature!
